📍 Italy
Salita dei Cappuccini is the stepped ascent from Monterosso al Mare’s old village toward the Capuchin convent and the Church of San Francesco, set on the San Cristoforo promontory that separates the historic center from Fegina. As the path rises, views open across terracotta roofs, church towers and the tightly packed lanes of the village to the Ligurian Sea. The elevated angle reveals Monterosso’s geography especially clearly: a coastal settlement compressed between steep green slopes and a narrow shoreline. Stone walls, stairways and Mediterranean vegetation frame the scene, while the changing bends create layered compositions rather than a single fixed panorama.
