Parco della Rocca di Cefalù covers the steep limestone promontory rising directly behind Cefalù’s historic center on Sicily’s Tyrrhenian coast. Paths climb past the remains of the megalithic Temple of Diana and medieval fortifications, reflecting the rock’s long-standing sacred and defensive importance. From its terraces, the town resolves into a distinctive composition: the twin towers of the Norman cathedral above tightly packed terracotta roofs, the old harbor, and the broad curve of the sandy waterfront meeting blue sea. Higher viewpoints also reveal the Rocca’s sheer cliffs and the coastline extending beyond Cefalù. The ascent follows steep, uneven stone paths, so reaching the upper ruins requires more effort than the lower overlooks.
