Our Lady of the Rocks is a captivating artificial islet located in the Bay of Kotor near the town of Perast, Montenegro. It is renowned for its stunning panoramic views and its unique origin story, which draws visitors from around the world. The islet was created over centuries by local seamen who, upon returning from successful voyages, laid rocks in the bay. This tradition, known as fašinada, continues today, with an annual event where locals add stones to the islet.

Atop the islet stands the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks, a striking Roman Catholic church completed in 1632. The church's architecture is a harmonious blend of Byzantine and Venetian styles, featuring a distinctive blue dome and an interior adorned with 68 paintings by the famous Baroque artist Tripo Kokolja. Visitors are often captivated by the intricate silver votive tablets donated by sailors, the impressive altar, and the museum within the church that houses maritime artifacts and historical exhibits. The islet offers breathtaking views of the surrounding bay and mountains, making it a popular spot for photography. Accessible by boat from Perast, visiting Our Lady of the Rocks is a memorable experience that combines history, culture, and natural beauty.
