📍 From Drone, Netherlands
Views from Nijmegen are shaped by the city’s dramatic position above the River Waal, where wooded hills meet the flat floodplains of the Betuwe. From Valkhof Park and the riverside Waalkade, the scene opens across busy shipping lanes, embankments and broad Dutch skies. The arched Waalbrug is the defining landmark, while the tower of Stevenskerk anchors the historic skyline behind the waterfront. Changing river levels expose sandbanks and alter reflections, and evening light often silhouettes the bridges against the open northern horizon. The contrast between Nijmegen’s elevated, compact center and the expansive river landscape gives these views their distinctive scale.
