📍 India
Naina Peak, also known as China Peak, is the highest hill overlooking Nainital in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region. From this elevated viewpoint, Naini Lake’s distinctive curved outline and the town’s densely packed buildings sit within a basin of steep, wooded slopes. The panorama reveals how closely the hill station follows the contours of its mountain setting, with successive ridgelines stretching beyond the lakeside settlement. In clear weather, distant snow-covered Himalayan peaks add another layer to the skyline. The approach follows a forest trail through oak and rhododendron woodland, contrasting with the open views from the summit.
