Helipad Simalem is an elevated viewpoint within Taman Simalem Resort near Merek in Karo Regency, overlooking the northern reaches of Lake Toba. Its broad panorama reveals the scale of the volcanic caldera, with the lake framed by steep, forested ridges and the landmass of Samosir visible across the water in clear conditions.
