Piazzola is a hillside hamlet in the municipality of Rabbi, in Trentino’s Val di Rabbi, a mountain valley branching off Val di Sole. The valley extends into the Ortles–Cevedale mountains, with its upper reaches forming part of Stelvio National Park. Views from the hamlet bring together sloping meadows, conifer-covered hillsides and scattered masi, the traditional Alpine farmsteads that reflect the area’s agricultural heritage. Stone and timber buildings give a human scale to the steep terrain, while the contrast between open grassland and dense woodland makes the contours of the valley especially clear.
