📍 Portugal
The Boca do Vento Panoramic Elevator overlooks the Tagus from Almada’s old town, on the river’s southern bank opposite Lisbon. It links the upper streets with Jardim do Rio, a riverside garden beside the historic Ginjal waterfront. From this elevated setting, Lisbon’s tightly packed buildings climb the hills beyond the opposite shore, while the 25 de Abril Bridge spans the river to the west. The steep escarpment beneath Almada gives the view a striking vertical foreground against the broad water and distant skyline. Along Ginjal, former warehouses recall the waterfront’s maritime and industrial past, while ferries crossing between Cacilhas and Lisbon add movement and scale to the river scene.
