Albion Hill descends from Ramsgate’s East Cliff toward the waterfront, opening elevated views across the town’s Royal Harbour and marina. The harbour received its royal title from George IV in 1821 and remains the defining feature of central Ramsgate. From the slope, tiers of seafront buildings lead down to dense patterns of masts and boats, while the harbour arms extend toward the broad English Channel horizon. The changing height along the hill creates shifting compositions, from layered rooftops and waterfront architecture to wider maritime panoramas.
