The 5 Lakes Walk (5-Seenweg) crosses the alpine slopes above Zermatt, linking Stellisee, Grindjisee, Grünsee, Moosjisee and Leisee between Blauherd and Sunnegga. Each lake gives the Matterhorn a different foreground: Stellisee is known for its reflection of the peak in still water, Grindjisee sits among larches, and Moosjisee stands out for its milky turquoise colour. As the path moves between open slopes and woodland, the changing water, trees and shoreline make each view distinct.
