Dubrovnik is an incredible city on the Mediterranean coast of Croatia. It's a stunning walled city rich with history, and images of its terracotta-tiled roofs, red-tiled domes and glistening marble streets have graced many postcards. Its ancient city walls are the highlight, walking along the walls you’ll pass turrets, terraced gardens, and get amazing views of the city and the Adriatic sea below. The old city is filled with spectacular churches, monasteries and grand public buildings like Rector’s Palace and the old pharmacy. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants that fill up the tight, cobbled lanes and squares, so you can take time to enjoy the local culture and explore the city. You can take a boat ride to the nearby green island of Lopud and sunbathe on the sandy beach. Be sure to check out some of the charming village of Ston, where the oldest wall of Europe is located.
