Via Centrale
📍 Italy
Via Centrale, known in German as Stadtgasse, is the main pedestrian street through Brunico’s historic center in South Tyrol’s Puster Valley. Its narrow medieval alignment is framed by tall, closely packed buildings with pastel façades, projecting bay windows, arcades, and traditional shop signs, while Brunico Castle rises above the old town. Italian and German names on storefronts reflect the city’s bilingual culture and its position between Alpine and Mediterranean influences. The long perspective of repeating façades, window shutters, café tables, and pedestrians gives photographs a strong sense of depth, especially when soft light draws out the colors and stucco textures.
