Vf. Lăițel is a 2,390-metre summit on the main ridge of the Făgăraș Mountains, above Arefu in Argeș County. It rises along the high route between the Bâlea area and the Călțun–Negoiu sector, where the crest becomes steep, rocky and distinctly alpine. From the summit ridge, the landscape opens toward the dark basin of Lake Călțun, the angular mass of Negoiu and the deep valleys descending on either side of the range. Photographs here are defined by layered ridgelines, exposed slopes and dramatic shifts of cloud and light across bare rock. Access is by mountain trail and involves sustained high-altitude hiking; conditions on the open crest can change quickly, so the setting is best understood as a serious mountain environment rather than a roadside viewpoint.
