📍 Croatia
The Vestibul, part of the UNESCO-listed Diocletian's Palace in Split, Croatia, is a stunning circular structure that served as the emperor's entrance vestibule. Built in the 4th century, the Vestibul is known for its impressive acoustics, making it an excellent location for spontaneous a capella performances by local klapa groups. Its open dome, once topped with a mosaic, is now largely open to the sky, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, ideal for photography. The entrance provides a dramatic frame for capturing the Peristyle square with the cathedral's bell tower in the background. Visiting during the early morning or late afternoon can yield the best natural lighting for photographs.
