📍 Australia
Venus Rising is a 23-metre stainless-steel sculpture by British artist Wolfgang Buttress in Kangaroo Point Park, on the clifftop above the Brisbane River. Its slender, tapering form is built from an open lattice of circular elements, giving this tall landmark a delicate, almost woven appearance. The repeated rings catch the light and overlap into denser patterns as the viewing angle changes, while openings keep the sky visible through the structure. Looking upward from its base emphasizes the sculpture’s height and intricate construction; wider views connect its silvery form with the river and Brisbane’s city-centre skyline.
