Oriago is a comune in the Italian region of Veneto, located south of Venice in the Mira River delta. It can be reached by car in 30 minutes from Venice and by bus in around an hour. It is the perfect place to admire Venice's architectural jewels, such as magnificent palaces and churches. Ospedale Civile Santa Maria del Giglio, a stunning 17th century hospital is just one of many fascinating examples. There are also some lesser known wonders, such as Palazzetto Malipiero, Palazzetto Trevisan and Chiesa di San Pietro Apostolo, all being interesting examples of Venetian architecture. Finally, there is the hidden gem of Villa Zamboni, an 18th century country estate tucked away on the edge of the woodlands and surrounded by amazing parkland.
