Várzea da Serra is a rural village and civil parish in the municipality of Tarouca, in Portugal’s Viseu district and the historic region of Beira Alta. The River Varosa rises in this upland landscape before flowing through the Tarouca valley toward the Douro. Stone-built houses and tiled roofs sit among agricultural plots, giving views of the settlement a close connection to the surrounding working countryside.
