Van Nelle Fabriek is a historic industrial complex in the heart of Rotterdam. Built between 1925 and 1931, it is an iconic and revolutionary example of modern architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The factory is composed of four large blocks connected by bridges, with tall silo-shaped office towers dominating the skyline. High-tech materials and geometric forms were used in its construction, based on Futurist and Constructivist principles. The Van Nelle factory is now a major cultural and educational centre, home to the Netherlands Architecture Institute and the World of the Photo Museum. Visitors can explore the building and the many cultural activities hosted here. A must-see experience in the Netherlands!
