The Valle dei Templi (or Valley of the Temples) is a sprawling archaeological site in Agrigento, Italy. Located on a ridge to the south of the ancient city, the valley contains the most extensive remains of Greek temples in the world. The most famous of these temples is the Temple of Concordia, which was constructed in the 5th century BC. You will also find the Temple of Heracles, the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Castor and Pollux, and the Temple of Hephaestus. The valley provides an excellent opportunity to appreciate the ancient art and architecture of the Greek culture. There are vast stretches of columns and a circular altar at the Temple of Concordia. Among the highlights of the Valle dei Templi are the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, which are visible from the valley.
