Uzungöl Mosque stands beside the lake in Uzungöl, a mountain settlement in Çaykara district, Trabzon Province, in Türkiye’s eastern Black Sea region. Its twin slender minarets are a defining feature of the village skyline, rising above lakeside buildings against steep, forested slopes. The lake formed when a landslide blocked the valley, and its Turkish name means “long lake.” Seen from across the water, the mosque’s pale exterior contrasts with the dark green mountains, while calm conditions create reflections that emphasize the minarets’ height. This combination of water, woodland, and village architecture makes the mosque central to Uzungöl’s recognizable landscape.
