📍 Ukraine
Urochyshche Peklo is a rugged mountain tract near Osmoloda, a village set deep in the Gorgany range of the Ukrainian Carpathians. Its name translates as “Hell,” reflecting the enclosed, untamed character of the terrain rather than a formal settlement or monument. Dense forest, steep slopes, exposed stone and mountain water create a layered Carpathian scene, with the coarse rock and heavy woodland typical of the Gorgany landscape. Photographs here are defined by contrasts: pale stones against dark conifers, broken textures beneath the canopy, and narrow shafts of light reaching the forest floor.
