📍 Germany
The Umweltbundesamt (UBA) is the Federal Environment Agency of Germany headquartered in Dessau-Roßlau. It is an independent federal authority responsible for advising the German government on environmental protection and the implementation of environmental law. It was founded in the 1970s, and since then has stood at the forefront of Germany’s conservation efforts. Visitors to the Umweltbundesamt can explore the museum, which has a variety of exhibits documenting the history and current work of the agency. There is also an interactive exhibition that allows visitors to explore the UBA’s projects in more detail. Additionally, the grounds of the agency provide many recreational amenities such as a swimming pond, hiking trails, and an arboretum. Visitors can enjoy these amenities or take part in activities such as environmental education, bird watching, and historical tours.
