Uluwatu Cliff forms the dramatic southwestern edge of Bali’s Bukit Peninsula in Badung Regency, where pale limestone walls fall sharply into the Indian Ocean. Pura Luhur Uluwatu, one of Bali’s important sea temples, occupies a narrow promontory above the water, adding carved gateways, tiled shrines and ritual life to the coastal landscape. From the cliff paths, sweeping views reveal white surf tracing the rock base, while late-day light turns the stone warm and silhouettes the temple against the sea. Sunset Kecak performances take place in a nearby open-air amphitheater. Temple visitors are expected to dress respectfully, and the resident macaques are known for taking loose belongings.
