Ueno Toshogu Shrine is a historical site in Taito City, Japan, and is dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, a very important figure in Japan's history. Located near Ueno Park, the outer grounds of the shrine contain many cultural artifacts and a historical museum. It's well known for its 16th century carvings and its many intricate sculptures. Within the grounds is the large Five-Story Pagoda, or Gojyunoo, one of the country's oldest pagodas. You can also take a look at the many exotic trees and traditional Japanese gardens within the bounds of Ueno Toshogu Shrine. Visitors can learn much about the Great Tokugawa's legacy while visiting this beautifully designed shrine.
