๐ From Piazza di Porta Ravegnana, Italy
The Two Towers of Bologna, Italy, are two of the four Medieval towers that still remain standing in Bologna. Located in Piazza di Porta Ravegnana, they are the most visited monument in the city. The towers were initially built to serve defensive purposes, but they were later incorporated into the urban landscape of Bologna. The taller tower reaching 97 meters high is the Asinelli Tower, and the smaller one is the Garisenda Tower, which at one point, was nearly 50 meters high, but was reduced to 47 meters due to stability problems. The towers now stand as a symbol of the Medieval city and its ancient streets, and visitors can take in the breathtaking views that they offer of the city and its surroundings. Access to the towers is limited, but anyone is allowed to visit the buildings and take pictures from outside.
