📍 Türkiye
Tuz Gölü, meaning “Salt Lake,” spreads across Central Anatolia east of Kulu, within a vast, treeless basin bordered by the provinces of Konya, Ankara, and Aksaray. The lake is exceptionally shallow and saline: seasonal evaporation can expose broad white salt crusts, while wetter periods create thin reflective surfaces that blur the line between sky and land. Its immense horizontal scale, sparse shoreline, and subtle pink, blue, and silver tones give photographs a minimalist character. Tuz Gölü is also an important habitat and breeding area for greater flamingos, whose seasonal presence adds color and movement to the stark landscape.
