The Hồ Chí Minh Monument stands in Ninh Kiều Park, beside Cần Thơ’s best-known riverfront promenade near the confluence of the Cần Thơ and Hậu rivers. The bronze figure honors the leader of Vietnam’s independence movement and first president of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, portraying him in a familiar, approachable pose with one arm raised in greeting. Its tall pedestal and broad paved forecourt give the monument a formal civic presence, while palms, riverfront activity, and open sky place it firmly within the everyday life of the Mekong Delta city. After dusk, illumination separates the dark bronze figure from the surrounding greenery and waterfront buildings.
