The Tatra Mountains, located within the border regions of Poland and Slovakia, are an area of remarkable natural beauty and grandeur. Of the grand mountain ranges of Europe, the Tatra Mountains are the closest mountain range to the sea and are often called the "Roof of Poland and Slovakia". Rising more than 8,200 feet (2,500m) with their highest peak, the Rysy, the Tatra Mountains are a spectacular backdrop for one's European vacation.

The Tatra Mountains offer a range of activities for adventurers of all kinds. Hiking and trekking, horseback riding and skiing are all popular pastimes, as are swimming in the crystal clear mountain lakes and fishing. Various wildlife and native fauna inhabit the area and it's possible to take part in wildlife safaris and cave exploring. The area is full of attractions and activities, including snowshoeing, tobogganing, sailing, ice climbing and even mountain climbing. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafes and hotels that line the main roads, offering delicious local fare.
