Trondheim Cathedral, in Trondheim, Norway, is a stunning example of Gothic architecture. Built in the second half of the 14th century, this brick and stone cathedral was the first Gothic building constructed in Scandinavia, making it an important structure in the history of Norwegian architecture. The cathedral was designed by an unknown master mason and completed in 1320 for the coronation of Olav V. The exterior is characterized by tall buttresses, vaulting and arches, in an intricate Gothic style. Inside, visitors can admire the high vaulted ceilings, wooden carvings, and a large wooden sculpture of Saint Olav, the patron saint of Norway. The Trondheim Cathedral is one of the city's most famous attractions, offering visitors the opportunity to marvel at its intricate craftsmanship and breathtaking Gothic designs.
