📍 From Parc du Cinquantenaire, Belgium
The Triumphal Arch and the ‘Parc du Cinquantenaire’ or ‘Jubelpark’ in Brussels, Belgium, is an impressive and well known historical landmark located in the north east corner of the European Quarter. This 30 hectare park is an exhibition of Belgian culture and imperialism combined with the architecture. The star attraction in the park is the Triumphal Arch, built in honour of King Albert I’s silver Jubilee in 1880-1883. The entire park is covered with monuments, gardens and structures, all of which provide a compelling photo opportunity. The nearby reflective ponds creates a beautiful line-up of monuments and an impressive night time photo. The Charlemagne monument and the war memorial are other attractions in the park. The Cinquantenaire Museum located in the park displays historical artifacts from the country. Visitors can also experience a view from the terraces of the conference and exhibition center located in the park. The park remains open all day and there is no entry fee.
