Mannheim's "Tritonenbrunnen" (Triton Fountain) is a stunning monument featuring two figures of half-naked men standing on two dolphins and bathing in a shallow pool. It dates back to 1906, when it was built by the sculptor Jacques Senf, who also created a figure group for Heidelberg Castle. The fountain is located in the hustle and bustle of the city, in the heart of the pedestrian zone. The Tritonenbrunnen is a popular spot for strolling and resting, and the figure group of the Triton and dolphins is particularly impressive. The fountain is placed in an elaborate structure, with sculptures and pedestals of mythical figures included in its construction. It is surrounded by dark bluestone paving and separated by a shallow pool of water. This area provides a neat and tranquil place for visitors to spend time in quiet contemplation. It is especially stunning when illuminated at night.
