The Roman Theatre in Cartagena, Spain is an impressive monument and one of the most popular attractions in the city. Dating from the mid-1st century BC, it is one of the main features of the archaeological zone. The theatre is composed of two sections: a lower terrace, where the audience used to stand, and an upper tier with seventeen seats. The two sections are divided by a low wall. The main section features a picturesque stage supported by a wall which is decorated with pilasters and a long semi-circular bastion. The theatre has undergone renovations and can now accommodate up to 1500 people. The theatre is framed by the enchanting skyline of Cartagena and the nearby Monte de la Concepci贸n.
