The Trabucco di Punta San Francesco is a unique fishing structure located in the beautiful town of Vieste, located in Italy's Apulia Region. The Trabucco is a traditional type of fishing structure, composed of two platforms built close to the beach that are connected by a bridge, and supported by tall, wooden posts around the perimeter. The structure is believed to have been invented in this area by local fishermen as a way to take advantage of the fertile waters of the Gulf of Manfredonia.
Its location in Punta San Francesco also provides splendid views of the Adriatic Sea and the Gargano headland. Take the opportunity to enjoy the sunset with the Trabucco in the background, and don't forget to take along your binoculars, since the area is an excellent place to spot birds in their natural environment too.
