Tower Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in London, UK and a must visit for travelers to the city. The bridge, spanning the River Thames, opened in 1894 and combines elements of both Gothic and Renaissance architecture. It contains two striking towers, connected by two footbridges, which allow traffic to pass through to the markets of Shad Thames below. Visitors to the bridge can enjoy spectacular views of the river including the Houses of Parliament and the Globe Theatre. The bridge is usually seen lit up at night. The Tower Bridge Exhibition allows you to explore the history of the bridge and take a look at the Victorian engines that originally operated the Victorian walkways.
