Torreón de Cabrera is an old defensive tower perched on a hill near the municipality of Turre, in the province of Almería. It offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and glimpses of the Mediterranean Sea. Dating back to the 14th century, it once formed part of a network of watchtowers used to guard against pirate raids and invasions. Its thick walls and strategic location highlight its significance in local military history. A brief hike or short drive will take you close to the site, but be prepared for a steep or uneven path. Wear sturdy shoes, and bring water and sun protection. Access is generally free, though conditions may vary.
