The Torre Fortificata (Fortified Tower in English) is situated in the coastal city of Vieste, Puglia, Italy. The 17th-century tower, located at the highest point of the city, was built by the Spanish Bourbons as part of the defense plan for the Apulian territory during their rule in the region. It has a small square shaped platform facing the sea, covered by a gabled roof and supported by a round corner tower, with walls made of local limestone blocks, and a small rectangular window in the east and another door that opens to the west. The view from the tower offers stunning views of Vieste’s old city and the Adriatic Sea. The area around the Torre Fortificata is also incredibly scenic and features many beautiful and picturesque coastal views, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers.
