Torre dell'orologio is an impressive clock tower perched at the top of a steep flight of stairs in Castelbuono, Italy. It was built in 1590 to protect the village and its inhabitants when the Mediterranean Arabic pirates were frequently passing by. Today, the castle is the home of an old family, set in a beautiful garden full of trees, fruit and vegetables. With majestic views over the surrounding hillside, it is a must-see for anyone visiting Castelbuono. Its main attraction is the bell tower and its vast stone walls; which are decorated with brightly coloured tiles and various symbols. A special attraction is the 19th-century clock which is fully visible from the square below. On the walls of the square, there are some details, such as the clock case, with intricate and unusual designs. Castelbuono also offers an interesting itinerary for visitors, including churches, tile museums and old palaces.
