
Torre delle Dodici (the Tower of Twelve) is a medieval tower situated in an old town in the province of South Tyrol, Italy. It was built in 1318 as a fortified tower, providing protection for the citizens of Sterzing against the enemy. The tower has 4 storeys with 12 buttresses. Visitors to the tower can climb the 129 stairs in order to get to the belvedere on the highest storey, allowing them to get a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside. There is a fascinating museum inside the tower, providing insight into the history of the town, as well as a cafe located at the base of the tower. Visitors to the tower can explore the nearby alleys and streets at their leisure. The tower is a symbol of Sterzing and its proud history, and visiting it should be on every traveller's itinerary.
