The Torre dell’Orologio is Montelupone’s civic clock tower, rising beside the Palazzetto del Podestà on Piazza del Comune, at the heart of this walled hill town in the Marche. Its brick shaft, clock face and crenellated crown reinforce the medieval civic character of the square, where historic public buildings form a compact ensemble. From street level, the tower’s height is emphasized by the close façades and narrow approaches; from farther away, its silhouette stands above terracotta roofs and the rolling Macerata countryside. Warm masonry, geometric battlements and the prominent clock face give the tower its most recognizable photographic details.
