📍 From Fonte Luminosa, Brazil
Brasília’s TV Tower is a broadcasting landmark on the Eixo Monumental, rising above the capital’s carefully ordered civic center. Designed by urban planner Lúcio Costa, the 224-meter structure combines a sculptural concrete base with a slender steel lattice mast, echoing the modernist language that defines Brasília. Its observation platform, set about 75 meters above ground, reveals the city plan at an unusually legible scale: broad avenues, separated urban sectors, and the strong east–west line leading toward the Esplanade of Ministries and National Congress. From below, the tower’s triangular supports create bold symmetry and geometric shadows, while the nearby fountain can add reflections and movement. The base area is also associated with the Feira da Torre, a market for regional food, crafts, clothing, and souvenirs.
