📍 Philippines
The Torre De Santo Tomas is a distinctive landmark in Manila, Philippines. Built-in 1841, it was intended as a watchtower for ships entering Manila Bay. Today, it stands as the only surviving military tower from that period still standing in its original structure. The tower is constructed in the neoclassical style with four levels and a balcony offering a bird’s-eye view of the bay. Inside, the tower’s walls are adorned with murals and vintage photographs of the area’s colonial past. The top balcony is a popular spot amongst visitors to take in the panoramic views of the bay and nearby park. The base of the tower is also a popular spot to explore the surrounding area of the park and take in some of the city’s prime historical and cultural sites. Torre De Santo Tomas is a great destination to experience the history and culture of Manila.
