The Torre de Hércules (Hercules Tower) is an ancient Roman lighthouse located in the northern city of A Coruña in Galicia, Spain. Built in the 2nd century, it is the oldest lighthouse in the world that is still in use. The structure stands at the entrance to the harbor, offering spectacular views of the Bay. Its rocky hilltop location commands attention, and is featured in historical documents, literature and even traditional folk songs. Its architecture is mainly neoclassical, but it features both Gothic and Baroque additions. Although it is not open to the public, it serves as a reminder of the city's past, as well as of its seafaring heritage. Visitors can view the tower from nearby Coruña Castle, the city's historic fort.
