📍 From Olympic Islands, Canada
Toronto and Olympic Islands are two small islands situated in Toronto, Canada, where Lake Ontario meets the Humber River. Popular for its outdoor fun, you can take a ferry ride to explore the islands. It is the first designated natural environment area in the city, and it is home to Europe's largest urban car-free community park. The islands have a great history; Through its conversion to the Islands of Toronto, they have been used for industrial purposes, hosting events and entertainment venues, and an area for migrating birds. You can bring your binoculars and enjoy bird-watching year round. The Islands offer plenty of activities such as sailing, canoeing, paddle-boarding, windsurfing, biking, camping and hiking. Additionally, there is a spectacular view of the Toronto skyline from the islands. There is a wide array of flora and fauna here, with a number of species being rarer than many other parts of Ontario. There are also a wide variety of sights here, making this an ideal spot for photographers.
