The Tonnara di Scopello is a charming fishing village that lies on the coast of Castellammare del Golfo in western Sicily. It’s a unique spot full of crystal clear waters, rocky coves, whitewashed houses and fishing activities.

The area is very popular in the summertime, when tourists come from faraway places to enjoy the wonderful temperatures, views and atmosphere. At the end of the tiny harbour, a tall rocky outcrop is home to the Tonnara. The entrance to the old tuna factory dates back to the 19th century and the inside culture is still preserved through the buildings, the tuna oil mill and other fishing activities. You can admire the views of the fishing village, its small harbour and the crystal clear waters of the beach. A must-see is the rocky stack outcrop providing a stunning backdrop and the cave, where you can also find remains of Punic shipwrecks. Take a stroll around the area and admire the white-washed houses, before finishing your visit with a typical Sicilian breakfast. The perfect way to get to know this stunning Mediterranean village..
