The Tomb of 'Unayshu is a Nabataean rock-cut tomb overlooking the Street of Facades in Petra, the ancient city beside modern Wadi Musa. Its elevated position on the slopes of Jabal al-Khubtha sets it above the smaller burial fronts lining the valley. The façade’s ordered architectural lines are carved directly into sandstone, contrasting with the irregular cliff and its bands of pink, ochre and brown. It belongs to the extensive funerary landscape of the Nabataean capital, where monumental tomb fronts made burial places a conspicuous part of the city’s public face.
