Tokyo Station is a major rail hub in Chiyoda City, linking the Marunouchi business district with the Yaesu side and serving Shinkansen, regional, and urban lines. Its most recognizable face is the red-brick Marunouchi Station Building, designed by Tatsuno Kingo and opened in 1914; the structure was later restored to recover its historic roofline and domed entrances. The long, symmetrical façade contrasts sharply with the surrounding glass towers, making the station a visual marker between modern Marunouchi and the nearby Imperial Palace grounds. From the broad plaza on the Marunouchi side, photographs can frame the full elevation, while the restored dome interiors offer ornate geometric reliefs and warm-toned architectural details.
