Tilikum Crossing Bridge
📍 United States
Tilikum Crossing Bridge, located in Portland, United States, is the first major bridge in the world to be solely reserved for public transportation, cyclists, pedestrians and emergency vehicles. Connecting Portland’s East and South Waterfront, it also provides a spectacular view of the city and the nearby Willamette River. The 1,720-foot-long cable-stayed bridge boasts an impressive array of architectural and artistic components, such as undulating cables, concrete piers and a variety of decorative lighting elements. There’s a wheelchair-accessible ramp at the east end of the bridge that’s perfect for watching ships ply the Willamette. A walking or biking tour of Tilikum Crossing takes at least an hour, and provides great views of the skyline, the river, and the environment along with it.
