📍 China
Tiaozhou Hutong is one of the narrow lanes in Beijing’s older residential street network. Hutongs traditionally provided access to *siheyuan*, homes arranged around interior courtyards, leaving much of domestic life out of view from the street. Here, the close-set walls and doorways convey a more intimate scale of the capital than its broad avenues and monumental landmarks.
