Thyborøn Wellenbrecher is an ambitious and unique construction that was built in Thyboron, Denmark. It spans the width of the Thyboron Fjord and is designed to help protect the harbor entrance from waves due to the city's changeable climate. The bridge has two separate bascule (drawbridge-type) sections, the largest measuring more than 90 meters in length when raised. It is one of the largest drawbridges in Europe, and presents a curious sight when viewed from the ground or neighboring water vessel. For visitors, the Thyborøn Wellenbrecher is open for viewing and exploration during daylight hours. It makes for a great spot to stroll across or to take in its grand architecture. If you're feeling adventurous, give kayaking around the Thyboron Fjord a try!
