๐ From Drone, United Kingdom
The Three Sisters are three imposing ridges of the Bidean nam Bian mountain massif on the southern side of Glen Coe, southeast of Ballachulish in the Scottish Highlands. From east to west, they are Beinn Fhada, Gearr Aonach and Aonach Dubh: distinct mountain shoulders rather than three separate summits. Their steep rock faces and deeply cut gullies reveal the glacial shaping of the glen, forming the recognizable sequence of mountain walls visible from the A82. Between Beinn Fhada and Gearr Aonach lies Coire Gabhail, known as the Lost Valley, a secluded basin concealed behind the lower slopes. In photographs, the contrast between the open valley floor and the towering ridges conveys their scale, while grass, heather and exposed rock give the slopes contrasting colors and textures.
